Scholarship Programme is for female students of St. Andrew Kaggwa Secondary School in Madudu.
Secondary school in Uganda follows the British model of O Levels and A Levels. Students start in S1 (1st year). At the end of S4 they sit O Levels, after which they can go on to do 2 years Teacher Training to become a primary school teacher. They can also go on to do S5 and S6 and then do A Levels, after which they can go to university.
Nanyange Pauline was the first young woman to avail of our Scholarship Programme, 10 years ago. Following her A Levels, she studied primary school teaching and is now working in a government school . She is the mother to a little girl and baby boy.
To date, 9 women have graduated as primary school teachers, 3 have graduated from Nkumba University – 2 in Agricultural Science and 1 in Fashion and Textiles. Esther and Gertrude are studying in Mityana College of Nursing and Midwifery. Judith and Scovia are studying for their A Levels. We are very proud of all of our Scholarship girls, of all they have achieved and the young women they have become.
