Volunteer with us in 2019!!!!!
We are now recruiting for our 2019 Volunteer Programme and it’s going to be a great one!!! Building on the great success of this year’s Volunteer Programme, we have decided to have 2 volunteer placements in 2019!
Teachers and General Skills….
The first will begin on Saturday 29th June and will run for 4 weeks. It is aimed primarily at teachers and general skills volunteers. Volunteer teachers will work in Kisoolo and St. Jude’s Primary Schools, Monday to Thursday, 8.30 to 1pm, teaching English, PE and art to all class levels.
We also need a volunteer to project manage the Building Programme and would be very interested in having promotional videos made. Whatever your skill set and experience, we will find the placement for you.
Afternoons will be spent in a variety of activities such as visiting other NGOs to hear about their work, meeting the people who work on or benefit from our programmes, visiting a local cultural/historical site, visiting people at home or in work to learn about the realities of life in Uganda. Volunteers also get to spend 3 days in the awe-inspiring Julina School for the Deaf in Mityana.
Nutritionists, Mid-wives, Nurses and Doctors….
New for 2019 is our second placement! This will run from 3rd – 18th August and is specifically for nutritionists, mid-wives, nurses and doctors.
They will work as part of our Safe Motherhood Programme giving workshops to expectant mothers on nutrition, pregnancy, breastfeeding and related matters. As the women work in the fields in the morning, the workshops will take place in the afternoons and the mornings will give the volunteers the opportunity to visit NGOs, etc.
